Leh: The Lt. Governor of Ladakh union territory, RK Mathur today took to Twitter to express his condolences to the families of seven soldiers killed after an Army Vehicle fell in a deep river in Ladakh’s Turtuk sector on Friday.
“No words can express the irreparable loss caused by the unfortunate and tragic road accident near Turtuk.
“My condolences to the families of the soldiers who lost their lives and we all pray for the speedy recovery of the ones who are injured.” LG Ladakh RK Mathur tweets.
It is pertinent to mention here that seven soldiers died and a dozen more were injured after a vehicle carrying them fell into Shyok river in Ladakh on Friday morning. The accident happened in the Turtuk sector. The Indian Army said that a party of 26 soldiers was moving from the Transit Camp in Partapur to a forward location in Sub Sector Hanif at around 9 am on Friday. About 25 km from Thoisa, the vehicle skidded-off the road and fell into the Shyok river “resulting in injuries to all occupants”.
