Kargil, November 19, 2025: The Cooperatives Department Kargil, in partnership with the Fruit Growers Cooperative Processing & Marketing Society Ltd., held a special event to commemorate the upcoming International Year of Cooperatives 2025, spotlighting the growing strength of cooperative initiatives in the region.
Hosted at the society’s premises, the programme underscored the crucial contribution of fruit growers to Kargil’s rural economy. Officials highlighted how cooperative models help farmers secure better market access, boost productivity, and uphold fair trade practices. Locally processed products—including apricot seed oil, berry juice, and dried apricots—were showcased, drawing strong public interest.
Speakers stressed the core cooperative values of unity, transparency, and shared progress, urging growers to adopt modern farming techniques and continue strengthening collective efforts.
