Kargil: Students of Govt. Model Degree College Zanskar, as part of a weeklong biological-cum-exposure tour, today visited Council Secretariat, LAHDC, Kargil where they interacted with Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmed Khan and Executive Councillor Tourism and Zanskar Affairs Er Punchok Tashi.

A documentary of the week-long tour was presented by the students and students of 5th semester presented a PowerPoint presentation explaining the tour program.

While interacting with the students, the CEC stressed having more such tours of Kargil, Leh and other places of India in order to give exposure to students.

He stated that LAHDC has always supported the college and has become the most developed college in the Union Territory of Ladakh in terms of infrastructure and facilities available.

EC Tashi appreciated principal GMDC Zanskar and staff for organizing the tour to enhance the understanding of students about the flora, fauna, historical locations and culture of Kargil.

Principal of the college, Nasir Shabani informed that presently, seven projects are going in the college campus and this was possible due to additional 106 kanals of land conferred by LAHDC Kargil. He requested the council to allocate funds to canalize excessive discharge of water towards the college premises during peak summer.

Earlier, students visited Munshi Aziz Bhat Museum and Skill Centre of the Govt. Degree College Kargil and students of each college shared their ideas on the occasion.
