Leh, Aug. 7: The Union Territory Administration of Ladakh has begun a comprehensive review of subsidy schemes under the State Development Plan (SDP) 2026–27, with a strong focus on boosting agriculture, horticulture, livestock, eco-tourism and electric mobility.

Chairing a high-level meeting, Administrative Secretary, Planning, Development & Monitoring Department, Himanshu Gupta, reviewed department-wise proposals to ensure the schemes are practical, transparent and aligned with Ladakh’s development priorities.

Key proposals included subsidies for fodder seeds and polycarbonate greenhouses to strengthen agriculture, feed support for pashmina goats, promotion of dairy farming, incentives for electric vehicle (EV) adoption, and financial assistance for homestay development to boost eco-tourism and sustainable livelihoods.

Gupta directed all concerned departments to refine their proposals wherever required and ensure that every scheme has clear implementation mechanisms, measurable outcomes and maximum benefit for the intended beneficiaries.

The meeting was attended by senior officials from the Planning, Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, Transport and Forest departments.
