LADAKH: Enterprising Ladakh Youth Awareness Programme was formally launched at Government Degree College Nobra today on 9th September 2025 in the college multi-purpose hall. The workshop will be held for three days, from the 9th till the 11th of September 2025. Enterprising Ladakh supported by Higher Education Department, UT Ladakh will focus on tapping the entrepreneurial spirit of students, youth and people from Nobra region and Ladakh. The resource persons for the workshop are Ms. Fariya and Mr. Rigzin Wangdus representing Enterprising Ladakh. The programme began with a welcome address from Nodal Officer of Enterprising Ladakh, Government Degree College Nobra, Assistant Professor, Ms. Sonam Angmo.
Principal GDC Nobra, Sh. Rigzin Sandup in his address emphasized the need for local driven innovative business initiatives that would help provide employment opportunities to the youth and people of the region. In the inaugural sessions, project officers from Enterprising Ladakh, Ms Fariya and Mr Rigzin Wangdus gave detailed presentations on the various local entrepreneurial opportunities available in Ladakh. The students and women from self-help groups engaged actively in the group sessions, propounding many initiatives in the agricultural sector they had been taking. Students of GDC Nobra also showcased their innovative skincare products made from rich local resources of Nobra like Goji berry and seabuckthorn. They also displayed their sample products of jam and pickles as well as creative hand embroidered products. The participants included college students and several women from Ama Tsogspa and other self-help groups from Nobra. The emcee for the event was Sanju Kumari, President, Student Council, GDC Nobra. The 3 days workshop aims to create and revive sustainable business opportunities for all age groups across the region.
