Padyatra under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan spreads a powerful message of healthy, disciplined living
Drass, September 17: A strong message against drug abuse echoed across Drass on Wednesday as a Padyatra under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan was organised from Khandiyal Lungma to Tourist Dak Bungalow.
Students, teachers, government employees, officials and members of civil society participated enthusiastically, raising awareness about the harmful consequences of substance abuse and urging young people to choose a healthy and productive lifestyle.
The event was attended by Deputy Commissioner Imteeaz Kacho, Superintendent of Police Ishtyaq Kacho, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Asif Hussain and Sub-Divisional Magistrate Vishal Atri, along with officials from various departments and representatives of educational institutions.
During the rally, participants raised slogans including “Say No to Drugs, Say Yes to Life”, reinforcing the campaign’s message among the community.
Addressing the gathering, DC Imteeaz Kacho called for collective action against drug abuse, stressing that administration, schools, parents, students and the wider community must work together to build a drug-free society. He also urged people to promptly report suspected drug-related activities to the authorities.
SP Ishtyaq Kacho highlighted the importance of community vigilance and encouraged students to focus on education, sports and other constructive activities while staying away from harmful influences.
SDM Vishal Atri administered the anti-drug pledge, with participants resolving to stay away from drugs and contribute towards creating a healthier society.
The Padyatra concluded at Tourist Dak Bungalow with a collective commitment to strengthen the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and make Drass a safer, healthier and drug-free community.
