Leh: Divisional Commissioner, UT Ladakh, Saugat Biswas reviewed the arrangements for the upcoming Independence Day- 2022 celebrations in UT Ladakh.
The Div Com reviewed department-wise assigned tasks and instructed the concerned officers to put in place all arrangements well in advance for a smooth celebration of the National event.
He took detailed stock of security arrangements, traffic management, seating arrangements, decoration and illumination of venues and Government Buildings, provision of PAS, Power water supply, sanitation, Medicare, besides distribution of invitation cards, finalisation of cultural activities. The concerned officers were instructed to follow the devised plans while accomplishing their assigned tasks.
Lt. Governor, UT Ladakh, R K Mathur will hoist the national flag at 10:00 AM and the celebrations will be open to the public. Public desirous of attending the celebration will have to take their seats by 9:30 AM. The whole celebration will be webcasted live.
Also, it was informed that the seating capacity of the venue is being enhanced and other related infrastructure has been improved this year.
Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Shrikant Suse apprised the Div Com about the arrangements being put in place for ensuring smooth celebrations of the national event.
Regarding the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Div Com instructed the concerned officers to ensure the hoisting of the national flag on every household, vehicle, Government building and office in the districts.
After two years of break again the celebrations will see school students participating in culture and March past.
Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Shrikant Suse; DIG Ladakh Police, Sheikh Junaid Mehmood; Director Hospitality, Dr Zahida Bano; SP Traffic, Mohd Giri; Chief Engineer, Superintendent Engineer, Executive Engineer and other sectoral officers were present.
