Leh: Deputy Chairman, LAHDC, Leh, Tsering Angchuk attended the District Level Science Exhibition at DIET Campus, Leh. It was organised by Samagrah Shiksha Leh in collaboration with District Institute for Education and Training, Leh and Chief Education Office, Leh.
Deputy Chairman, Tsering Angchuk was the chief guest on the occasion while Vice Chancellor University of Ladakh, Dr Surinder Kumar Mehta was the guest of honor. Director, School Education Ladakh, Dr Safdar Ali, eminent scientist of different departments, Judges, principals, ZDOs, Headmasters, teachers, students, besides other concerned officers were present on the occasion
.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Chairman appreciated the organisers, teachers and students for organising the science exhibition and appreciated the high standards maintained by the students in displaying the models. He said that the students are well aware of the climatic conditions of Ladakh region which was visible through the display of models. He appreciated the efforts of teachers in conceptualising the models for the display. He urged students to focus on innovative ideas.
Meanwhile on the occasion Vice Chancellor, University of Ladakh Dr SK Mehta encouraged the students & urged to explore climate change with new ideas and models, he also congratulated the winners & thanked DIET for organising such events.
Director, School Education Ladakh, Dr Safdar Ali stressed on the importance of an inquisitive mind for the students in order to have a rational vision. He requested the students to build a positive character at the early age which will act as base for their future.
Pertinently, a total of 55 schools of Leh participated in the science exhibition.
The prize distribution ceremony for Higher Secondary Level and High School Level was held where Government Higher Secondary School, Saspol bagged 1st postion, Govt. Hr. Sec. School, Chuchot Shamma bagged 2nd position and Govt Girls Higher Secondary School, Leh bagged 3rd position in Higher Secondary Level.
Whereas in High School Level, Housing Colony High School bagged 1st postion, Lamdon Model Senior Secondary School, Leh bagged 2nd and Mahabodhi School, Leh bagged 3rd position in science exhibition.
