Kargil: The Department of Geography in collaboration with the Department of Travel and Tourism Management Government Degree College, Kargil today organized a discussion on the theme ‘Problems and Prospects of Tourism in Ladakh’.
Incharge Principal Dr Javed briefed the students about relevant soft skills needed in today’s world especially in the hospitality industry.
Tsetan Dolkar, Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography presented her views on tourism as a Geographical Phenomenon in Ladakh.
She highlighted the trends, infrastructure, major destinations and causes of unevenness of distribution therein.
Mohd Hussain Wazir, faculty Department of Travel and Tourism Management discussed various entrepreneurship opportunities in tourism in Kargil and hospitality sector in general.
He also talked about the potential areas of tourism in Kargil and suggested students to come up with ideas to tap into the ever-increasing industry.
It was followed by the discussion among the students. Afzal Hussain, faculty in the department of Geography concluded the event by presenting vote of thanks.
