Leh: CEC, LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson visited Lingshed, Skumpata Gongma, Neraks and Photoksar during his one-day tour.

CEC, LAHDC, Leh conducted a review meeting with all concerned officers/officials, representatives of Lingshed Monastery and Yarchos Chenmo Committee, Sarpanchs, Panches, and Nambardars regarding developmental works being carried out by the different executing agencies in view of the visit of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama to Lingshed and initiation of Ladakh Lingon Yarchos Chenmo 2022 to be held at Lingshed in the first week of August 2022.

Chairman/CEC directed the concerned officers to complete all developmental works by 15th July 2022, given the fast-approaching date of Yarchos Chenmo. He also directed SDM Khaltsi to convene weekly review of the progress of works with all executing agencies to ensure timely completion.

During the visit, CEC gave a patient hearing to the demands/grievances put forth by the villagers which include, the early completion of developmental works about Yarchos Chenmo, electrification of remaining unelectrified villages of Trans Singay la area by connecting the region with the northern grid, separate panchayat halqa for Youlchung Neraks, posting of sufficient number of teachers, installation of transmission line, early completion of Jal Jeevan Mission, infrastructural development for schools and Medical Sub Centre etc.

Chairman/CEC has requested all officers to give special focus to the Singay Lalok area being a remote part of the UT Ladakh.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Singay Lalok region is one of the most inhospitable regions in UT Ladakh which remains cut-off from the district headquarter for almost six month during harsh winter season due to blockage of Singay La pass.

CEC was accompanied by ACD, Leh; SE PDD; SE PHE; SDM Khaltsi; Chief Education Officer, Leh; Executive Engineer SSD, Khaltsi; PDD, PHE, I&FC; BMO Khaltse and other concerned officers of Khaltse Sub Division and OC Project Yojak BRO was also present.
