CEC Feroz Khan visits schools of Karkit-Badgam, takes stock of infrastructure and academic activities

Kargil: Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor (CEC), LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan today visited various schools of the Education Department functioning in various hamlets and villages of Karkit-Badgam.

He took assessment of infrastructure, academic activities and other issues related to the respective schools. Councilor Chuli Skambu Constituency Altaf Hussain, BDC Chairperson Khatija Banoo, Chief Education Officer Kargil Mushtaq Ahmad besides other concerned officers accompanied the CEC during the tour.

During the visit, the CEC visited Government High School Badgam, Primary Schools Khandah, Haral, Middle School Karkit and DC School Badgam.

Khan took a detailed assessment of the academic activities and gave a patient hearing to issues and grievances forwarded by students, teachers and village education committees.

At GHS Karkit-Badgam, CEC Khan interacted with the villagers to make them understand to safeguard the future of their wards and not allow miscreants to exploit their innocence.

He said that sanctioned posts are distributed as per the requirements of the schools, but the problem has arisen due to the high roll of students.

The CEC said that necessary interventions and proposals will be forwarded to UT Administration for the permanent shifting of posts to the schools of Badgam area.

Khan further appreciated the staff of GHS Badgam for their relentless services and availing all means of traditional and digital learning to the students.

The CEC said that infrastructural expansion works of Primary School Karkit has been put under SDP in the current financial year, besides the existing 5 decades-old building of Primary School Haral will be rebuilt soon subject to the arrangement of temporary building.

Moreover, he said that all issues and grievances of Middle School Khandah will be resolved in a phased manner.

CEC Khan also announced that at Government Higher Secondary School Chanigund, a special school bus will be allocated to the students of Karkit-Badgam and said he will take up SRTC bus services issue with concerned.
