Kargil: Chairman and Chief Executive Councilor (CEC), LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan today congratulated Anwar Hussain from Kargil for qualifying UPSC Civil Services (Main) Examination-2021, the results for which were declared on Monday.
Anwar Hussain, son of Haji Hamza, a resident of Balti Bazar, Kargil has secured 600th rank. He had earlier qualified the Kashmir Administrative Services (KAS) examination and is currently serving as tehsildar/incharge SDM Drass.
While congratulating the UPSC qualifier for achieving this feat, the CEC Khan expressed optimism that more and more youth from Ladakh region will qualify the examination.
“There is no dearth of talent in both districts of Ladakh. His success is an inspiration for the younger generation and it will encourage our educated youth to participate in Civil Services examination in future,” he said.
Councilor Kargil Town Haji Muhammad Abass also congratulated the UPSC qualifier and said that it is a moment of pride not only for Kargil district but for the whole Ladakh region.
“Our youth need inspiration and this is an example for them. I am sure this will encourage more and more youth to take part in UPSC examination,” he said.
As many as 685 candidates have qualified the prestigious test. While Shruti Sharma has topped the examination, Ankita Agarwal and Gamini Singla have secured the second and third rank, respectively.
The civil services examination is conducted annually by the UPSC in three stages – preliminary, main and interview – to select officers of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS) among others.
