CEC attends 40th foundation day function of Suru Valley Public School Kargil

Kargil: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan today attended the 40th Foundation Day function of Suru Valley Public School Kargil which was celebrated here at Syed Mehdi Auditorium Hall.

On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve, Director School Education Dr Safdar Ali, Registrar University of Ladakh Kacho Imtiyaz Ali, Director University of Ladakh, Kargil Campus, Kaneez Fatima, SE PWD Hydraulics Nissar Ahmad Bagh, founders of the School Elijah Gergan, Snehlata Gergan, alumni besides enrolled students were present.

Speaking on the occasion, the CEC appreciated the school management for successfully running the school and said it is the first school in Kargil that has provided the concept of private schools.

Despite being the first private school, it has no proper land of its own owing to certain issues. The CEC said that the case has been raised with the appropriate authority in the UT Administration.

On the occasion, DC Santosh emphasized on the importance of quality education in school for the overall development of the child and shared his childhood experiences.

The special guest of the occasion, Elijah Gergan presented a flashback of how he and his wife Snehlata Gergan established the school in the district. He emphasized on overall development including moral and conscious improvement among children.

Other dignitaries and Alumnis of the School viz Director School Education Dr Safdar Ali, Director UoL Kargil Campus, Kaneez Fatima, Registrar, UoL Kacho Imtiyaz Ali, also spoke on the occasion. Students of the school presented a colourful cultural program.

Alumni of the school, Dr Javed Naqi presented vote of thanks to the guests, dignitaries and alumni.
