Zanskar, September 17, 2025: An awareness campaign under the Kargil Jan Hit Camp was organised today at Lungnak Block headquarters, Cha. The programme began with a briefing by Mudasir Rauoof Wani, Functional Manager, District Industries Centre (DIC) Kargil.
Representatives from Block Development Offices (BDOs), the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), J&K Bank, Crisil Foundation, and other line departments shared details about government-sanctioned schemes aimed at supporting local beneficiaries. A large number of villagers participated in the camp.
As part of the initiative, a Panchayat-wise outreach programme was also conducted on Tuesday at Tourist Dak Bungalow, Padum. The event was inaugurated by Omkar Gajendra Gundage, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Zanskar and Area Development Officer. The programme again began with a briefing by Wani from DIC Kargil.
Officials from BDOs, NRLM, State Bank of India (SBI), J&K Bank, and other departments explained the benefits of various government schemes. More than 100 beneficiaries, including Self Help Groups (SHGs) and NRLM members, attended.
The sessions focused on several flagship initiatives, including the PM Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) scheme, the Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), the Ajeevika Grameen Express Yojana, and financial literacy programmes.
The visiting team from DIC Kargil assured participants of continued doorstep assistance throughout the camp in Zanskar, helping beneficiaries with applications and access to schemes.
