Leh: Asserting that the expectations of people of Ladakh have gone up in terms of quick redressal of their grievances, Advisor Ladakh, Umang Narula stressed for proactive measurs in meeting their aspirations and redressing their complaints.
Advisor Ladakh, Umang Narula yesterday attended the concluding day of the five-day training program for officers of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Ladakh, Special Investigating Units, Ladakh Police, Revenue Officers/Officials and PWD Engineers.
The program was organized by Home Department, UT Ladakh in collaboration with Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), UT of J&K who shared their expertise on various pertinent subjects for sensitizing and handholding of the officers/officials.
Addressing the event, Advisor Narula shared that Ladakh after becoming a Union Territory, Ladakh has had a five-fold increase of budget.
However, with this significant increase, the responsibility of transparency and accountability also become more important.
“While we are still in the process of setting up our system here, people’s expectations have gone up in terms of quick redressal of their grievances and the government needs to be proactive in meeting their aspirations and redressing their complaints,” stated Advisor Narula.
Shri Anand Jain, Director ACB, J&K explained the successful interventions made by ACB, J&K such as development of an Online Vigilance Portal, development of mobile application – Satark Nagrik portal, etc which can be incorporated into the system of UT Ladakh for a productive and smooth functioning of the system.
Commissioner Secretary, Ajeet Kumar Sahu, Divisional Commissioner Saugat Biswas, Commissioner Secretary Padma Angmo, Administrative Secretary Ravinder Kumar, Administrative Secretary Mehboob Ali Khan, DC Leh Srikant Suse, DIG Ladakh Police Sheikh Junaid, SSP Leh PD Nitya, officers of Ladakh Police and other officials of the UT Administration attended the concluding session of the training programme.
