Leh: The Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Adv. Tashi Gyalson presided the closing ceremony of the 10 days monastery and cultural tour guide certification programme organised by Ladakh Buddhist Association, Youth Wing in association with LAHDC Leh and All Ladakh Gonpa Association.
While addressing the gathering, CEC Gyalson highlighted the need for having skilled and trained tour guides in Ladakh. He further added that such trainings would encourage the youths in taking the profession and also contribute in preserving the unique cultural and traditional identity of Ladakh. He also spoke about responsible tourism and the responsibility of tour guides and drivers in educating tourists about the fragile environment and the importance of age old heritages in the region. He appreciated the efforts of LBA and the experts in conducting such programmes and assured to extend all possible assistance in future from the Hill Council.
Officials of LBA and the trainees also shared their feedbacks and thoughts on the conduct of programme during the session. All the cultural experts and trainees were felicitated in the end.
