Kargil: On the occasion of National Doctor’s Day, Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan today inaugurated surgical procedures at Community Health Centre (CHC) Sankoo.

Executive Councilor for Health Mohsin Ali, Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve, Councilor Sankoo Aga Syed Ahmad Razvi, Councilor Thasgam Abdul Rahim, Chief Medical Officer Kargil Dr Munawar Hussain Wazir, Medical Superintendent District Hospital Kargil Dr Kacho Liyaqat Ali Khan, Block Medical Officer Sankoo Dr Ghulam Hussain besides doctors and paramedical staff were also present on the occasion.
CEC Khan congratulated the doctors of Kargil district on the occasion of National Doctor’s Day and hailed their contribution of doctors and paramedical staff in the mitigation of Covid-19 and for providing uninterrupted health care services in the district.
He also congratulated the people of Suru Valley and appealed them to take benefit of surgical procedures at their doorsteps at CHC Sankoo.
The CEC stressed on doctors and paramedical staff to use the newly provided surgical equipment and other infrastructure properly for the maximum benefit of patients.
Khan expressed gratitude to the Government of India and UT Administration Ladakh for providing infrastructure and funds for the improvement of health sector in the district.
He also stressed improving the skills of health care professionals in order to handle new medical equipment and machines. The CEC said that starting of surgeries at CHC Sankoo will help decongest the huge load of patients on District Hospital Kargil.
On the occasion, EC Mohsin Ali also expressed gratitude to UT Administration for providing funds and human resource for starting of surgical procedures at CHC Sankoo. He said that same surgical procedures need to start at other CHCs in the district.
EC Mohsin said LAHDC Kargil and District Administration Kargil is committed to providing better health care facilities to the people at their doorsteps.
Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Santosh Sukhadeve congratulated the doctors’ fraternity on National Doctor’s Day and people of Suru Valley for start of surgical procedures at the hospital and assured proper functioning of the operation theatre in future.
DC Santosh stressed on health care workers to provide basic health facilities and health schemes to the patients so that they get maximum benefit of the government schemes.
Speaking on the occasion, Councillor Sankoo, Aga Syed Ahmad Razvi hailed the contribution and unconditional support of the UT Administration, LAHDC Kargil and District Administration for starting surgical procedures at CHC Sankoo.
CMO Kargil, Dr Munawar Hussain Wazir presented welcome address while BMO Sankoo, Dr Ghulam Hussain delivered vote of thanks. Dr Nasreen Fatima, Medical Officer CHC Sankoo, conducted the program proceedings.
It was informed that in the first phase, general surgery, orthopedic surgery and gynecological procedures will be started at CHC Sankoo.
