Kargil, September 17, 2025: The District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Kargil, in collaboration with Govt. Higher Secondary School, Bimbhat, Drass, organized a comprehensive awareness program on the Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection of Children) Act 2015; Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act 2012, Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act of 1986; Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006’ Child Helpline 1098/112; and Tele-Manas services 14416. The event was held at Government Higher Secondary School, Bimbhat, Drass.
The program aimed to educate students, teachers, and the community about critical child rights issues and the importance of protecting children from exploitation and abuse.
Resource persons from the District Child Protection Unit, Juvenile Justice Board, and Child Welfare Committee delivered detailed presentations and discussions on various topics, including Mission Vatsalya Schemes and Sponsorship; Juvenile Justice Act 2015 and Child Protection; POCSO Act 2012 and Prevention of Child Abuse; Child Labor, Trafficking, and Marriage; Adoption Regulations 2022; Importance of Child Helpline No. 1098/112; and Tele-Manas Services and Mental Health Support 14416 or 18008914416.
The program was attended by students and staff from Government Higher Secondary School, Bimbhat; Government Higher School, Bimbhat; Himabass Public School, Bimbhat; and Government Higher School, Chowkiyal, Drass. The event concluded with a vote of thanks and appreciation for the active participation of all attendees.
