Kargil: Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Shri Shrikant Balasaheb Suse, Saturday convened a meeting with heads of key departments and officials to review preparations for the upcoming “Dharti Aaba Abhiyan–Awareness and Benefit Saturation Camps,” scheduled to be held across the district from 15th June to 30th June 2025.
The campaign is being launched under the national initiatives — Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyaan (PM JANMAN) and the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DA JGUA) — with the objective of empowering tribal communities by ensuring saturation of individual entitlements and raising awareness about government schemes at the grassroots level.
During the meeting, Suse emphasized that the campaign will move beyond traditional awareness drives by ensuring the direct and on-the-ground delivery of essential services to eligible beneficiaries in tribal and Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) habitations.
He highlighted that the benefit saturation camps will serve as a single-window platform where individuals can access services such as Aadhaar and ration cards, Ayushman Bharat cards, caste and domicile certificates, Kisan Credit Cards, financial inclusion schemes like Jan Dhan and PM-KISAN, insurance coverage under PMJJBY and PMSBY, social security pensions, employment and livelihood programs such as MGNREGA, PM Vishwakarma and Mudra loans, and welfare benefits for women and children, including those under PMMVY and ICDS.
The Deputy Commissioner directed all departments to work in close coordination to ensure the success of the campaign.
He called for the preparation of detailed micro-plans and camp calendars at the district level and underlined the importance of involving Common Service Centres (CSCs) for Aadhaar enrolment, e-KYC, and documentation-related services.
The DC instructed that priority should be given to identifying villages and habitations with gaps in service delivery and to ensure that no eligible tribal family is left behind.
He further urged officers to ensure real-time reporting and robust monitoring mechanisms to track the number of beneficiaries served during the campaign.
Emphasizing the importance of convergence across departments such as Health, Rural Development, Social Welfare, Revenue, Agriculture, and Panchayati Raj, he reiterated that collective and focused efforts will be key to the campaign’s success.
The meeting was attended by senior officials from all line departments, who expressed their commitment to supporting the campaign and reaching the last mile with essential services.
The “Dharti Aaba Abhiyan” in Kargil is poised to become a landmark initiative in advancing the government’s mission of building an inclusive and empowered tribal India.
