Grand celebrations held to mark Changthang District Formation

Grand celebrations held to mark Changthang District Formation

Leh: A grand celebration was held in Tangtse Community Hall and Watse Naga Cricket Ground, Nyoma, to mark the creation of the new Changthang District on Sept 5.

The event was honoured by Chairman, CEC Adv.Tashi Gyalson, LAHDC Leh as the chief guest and Former MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal as the Guest of honour; along with Executive Councillor for Rural Development Department (RDD) Tashi Namgyal Yakzee; Former CEC Gyal P Wangyal; Nominated Councillor Ven Konchok Tsepel; Nyoma Councillor Ishey Spalzang; Kungyam Councillor Thinles Nurboo; Korzok Councillor Karma Namdak; Chushul Councillor Konchok Stanzin; BJP State President Punchok Stanzin; BJP State Vice President Nawang Samstan Lden; BJP state VP Dorjay Angchuk, District President Tashi Gyaltsan Kachu; BJYM Leh President Thinles Chumik and other officials.

All the distinguished members first visited Tangste Community Hall, where they were warmly welcomed with great enthusiasm. The community have gathered to celebrate the formation of the new district.

Former MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal expressed deep gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah for the establishment of the new district, recognizing it as a long awaited and pivotal milestone for the region.

He commended the unwavering efforts of CEC Tashi Gyalson, the councillors, and BJP leaders, highlighting their crucial role in realizing this long held aspiration.

CEC Tashi Gyalson in his address, highlighted the momentous nature of the new district. He extended congratulations to the people of Changthang and reflected on how the creation of the district aligns with the ongoing efforts to advance regional development.

Addressing recent concerns, he reassured the public about the support provided to victims of the Durbuk accident. CEC Gyalson further highlighted the power of decentralization and significant impact this achievement will have on the region’s development and progress.

The CEC expressed its gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP President J.P. Nadda, as well as to everyone involved in the creation of the district.

Executive Councillor for RDD, Tashi Namgyal Yakzee, highlighted the anticipated benefits, such as enhanced recruitment and educational opportunities, and recognized the efforts and dedication that led to this significant development.

A brief visit was made to the Resang La Memorial, taking a moment to honor and reflect on the historical significance of the site.

The celebration continued at Watse Naga Cricket Ground, Nyoma where the enthusiasm for the new district was palpable.

The EC for RDD Tashi Namgyal Yakzee highlighted the ongoing efforts and the positive outlook for future development.

Nyoma Councillor Ishey Spalzang extended heartfelt gratitude to CEC Tashi Gyalson, former MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, the BJP State President, the District President, and everyone involved for their instrumental role in advancing the district. He celebrated the district’s potential to drive significant regional progress.

The Former MP, JTN reflected on the joyous occasion and praised PM Modi for creating five new districts, emphasizing the importance of this development for the region. He encouraged appreciation for this achievement and looked forward to the benefits it will bring.

CEC Tashi Gyalson concluded the celebrations by extending congratulations to everyone involved and expressing gratitude to all attendees. He acknowledged the contributions of former MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, BJP leaders, and all who played a role in the district’s formation.

CEC Gyalson emphasized that the new district will foster development and distribution of power across the region, and he encouraged continued collaboration to achieve further goals. He reassured the community of ongoing support and commitment to serving their needs.

The councillors of Korzok, Chushul, and Kungyam, along with the nominated councillor Ven. Konchok Tsepel delivered speeches and reflected on the significance of the district’s formation and extended their heartfelt gratitude and congratulations to all involved.
