Leh: It is proud moment for the people of Ladakh as four budding girl Scientists from Ladakh has been selected by ISRO for young scientist program of the year 2022.
As per details shared by Ladakh Science Foundation, 4 girls namely Ms. Rigzen Wangmo, Lamdon school, R/o Basgo, Ms. Tsering Wangmo, JNV Leh, R/o Nubra Skampuk, Ms. Padma Ladol, JNV Leh, R/o Taknachik, Ms. Padma Angmo, JNV Leh, R/o Ulley Tokpo have been selected by ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization) for Young Scientist program Yuvika-2022 and successfully completed their training in ISRO from 16-28 May 2022.
“They have always proven their knowledge by participating in various competitions conducted by Ladakh Science Foundation such as in ‘Ladakh Science Olympiad’ / ‘Ladakh Cyber Olympiad’, they were the WINNERS in those science competitions which will add value to their selection,” said Tashi, Founder of Ladakh Science Foundation.

The Indian Space Research Organisation is organising a special programme for School Children called “Young Scientist Programme” “Yuva Vigyani Karyakram” , YUVIKA, to impart basic knowledge on Space Technology, Space Science and Space Applications to the younger students with a preference to rural areas.
