MEHRAK:  Parents’ Day was celebrated today at Middle School Merak, organised in collaboration with the Village Education Committee (VEC) and the parents of Merak. The event highlighted the importance of collective responsibility in strengthening education at the village level.

Councillor Chushul, Konchok Stanzin, attended the function as the Chief Guest, while Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Durbuk, Shri Manzoor Ali, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. Also present were Nambardar Maan Pangong A, Headmasters of Merak and Maan, teachers, villagers, and parents.

In his address, Councillor Stanzin emphasised the role of parents in strengthening schools, the duty of the administration to monitor, and the responsibility of teachers to deliver their best. He underlined the importance of children studying in their own villages under the guidance of parents and grandparents, where they can learn values, traditions, and resilience from their surroundings. He noted that children growing up in villages remain rooted, respectful of tradition, and better able to adapt to challenges in life.

Councillor Stanzin also shared details of ongoing school infrastructure projects across his constituency under various schemes, assuring that all schools will see complete infrastructural transformation. He reiterated his focus on strengthening the overall educational infrastructure. Appreciating the dedicated efforts of the teachers, led by the Headmaster, he praised their contribution to achieving good results and shaping the overall development of students. He also assured financial support for student-related infrastructure and acknowledged the role of NGOs in supporting school development.

Speaking on the occasion, ZEO Shri Manzoor Ali assured every possible support from the administration and reiterated the commitment to strengthening all schools under the Durbuk zone.

The VEC members shared the school’s achievements, expressed happiness over students’ results and performance at different levels, and extended gratitude to the teachers for their role in shaping the character of students.
