Leh: In a commendable initiative, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) Cyber Unit of Leh Police has successfully returned more than 35 lost mobile phones to their rightful owners. The drive, led by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Leh, Shruti Arora (IPS), marks another step in the district’s proactive efforts to safeguard citizens from cybercrime.
According to officials, the unit has helped save over ₹44 lakh from being siphoned off by fraudsters this year alone. These recoveries were made possible through quick tracking, verification, and coordination between cyber teams and local police stations.
SSP Arora lauded the efforts of her team, stating that public cooperation and timely reporting play a crucial role in fighting cybercrime. She urged citizens to immediately report lost items or any suspicious online activities through the Cyber Cell helplines or official government portals.
Leh Police reiterated their commitment to protecting residents from online scams, thefts, and fraudulent activities while strengthening digital safety awareness in the region.
