Kargil, Dec 3, 2025: Hon’ble Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, today attended the Annual Function-cum-Community Mobilisation Programme at Government Middle School Karchekhar as the Chief Guest.

Addressing students, parents, teachers, and community members, Dr. Akhoon stressed the importance of quality education and reiterated his commitment to strengthening the district’s educational ecosystem. He congratulated students—especially the girl toppers—for their academic achievements, noting that “education is the foundation of a civilised, progressive and empowered society.”

He commended the Village Education Committee for its active role in supporting the school and acknowledged its contribution toward improving the learning environment and overall functioning of the institution.

Responding to demands raised by the VEC and school authorities, Dr. Akhoon announced ₹2 lakh from the Untied Fund to address essential needs of the school, along with ₹5,000 as a token of encouragement for students who performed during the event. He assured that all genuine demands—including a new school building, link road connectivity, fencing and other infrastructure gaps—will be taken up and completed within his tenure.

The CEC urged parents to devote consistent attention to their children’s studies at home, emphasising that parental involvement is crucial for shaping students’ futures.

Deputy CEO, ZEO Sankoo, VEC members and the Headmaster thanked Dr. Akhoon for attending the function despite his busy schedule and lauded his commitment to promoting education in the region.

The event was attended by Deputy CEO, ZEO Sankoo, teachers, VEC members, students and residents of Karchekhar.
