LEH, June 4: Combining patriotism with environmental responsibility, MY Bharat Ladakh on Wednesday organised a plantation drive at the ITBP 5th Battalion premises under the nationwide ‘Ek Ped Veer Ke Naam’ campaign, paying tribute to the country’s brave soldiers through tree plantation.
The programme was conducted under the leadership of State Director, MY Bharat Ladakh, Tajamul Ara as part of the Viksit Bharat Vibrant Village Programme and the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports’ flagship environmental initiative.
Around 40 students selected for the Viksit Bharat Vibrant Village Quiz Programme from Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Delhi actively participated in the plantation drive alongside ITBP personnel, MY Bharat volunteers and mentors.
The event aimed to promote environmental conservation while honouring the sacrifices, courage and dedicated service of the nation’s armed forces and security personnel.
Speaking on the occasion, organisers highlighted that the ‘Ek Ped Veer Ke Naam’ campaign symbolizes gratitude towards the country’s brave defenders and encourages citizens, especially youth, to contribute towards building a greener and more sustainable future.
The plantation drive witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, who planted saplings within the ITBP campus as a mark of respect for the nation’s heroes and a commitment towards environmental protection.
Officials said the initiative reflects the spirit of Viksit Bharat by fostering civic responsibility, environmental awareness and national pride among young citizens.
The programme concluded with participants reaffirming their commitment to ecological conservation and sustainable development while paying homage to the brave men and women serving the nation.
