November 14, 2025: The CII Foundation, in partnership with HDFC Parivartan, celebrated Janjatiya Gaurav Divas 2025 by recognizing three outstanding Ladakhi entrepreneurs whose initiatives are preserving local culture while advancing sustainable development. Siachen Naturals, Nomadic Woollen Mills, and Lobi Thikma were felicitated for their contributions across wellness, traditional textiles, and indigenous crafts.
Certificates of appreciation were presented by District Panchayat Officer Akeel Sajad and former CII chairman Nawang Thinles. The ceremony underscored the growing importance of grassroots entrepreneurship in empowering tribal communities and promoting Ladakh’s rich cultural heritage.
Siachen Naturals was acknowledged for its natural wellness products and commitment to eco-conscious innovation. Nomadic Woollen Mills received recognition for sustaining Ladakh’s traditional wool craftsmanship, while Lobi Thikma was honored for reviving the region’s tie-dye (Thikma) and hand-weaving traditions.
Lauding the awardees, Nawang Thinles said, “These entrepreneurs are safeguarding Ladakh’s cultural legacy while creating meaningful opportunities for the community.” DPO Akeel Sajad added that their work represents Ladakh’s potential for culturally rooted, sustainable growth.
Supported by HDFC Parivartan, the event aimed to encourage more tribal entrepreneurs to pursue innovative, heritage-driven ventures. A CII representative noted that recognizing such local changemakers helps inspire broader participation in Ladakh’s economic development.
