Leh, Ladakh: In a strong push for citizen-centric governance, Additional District Commissioner (ADC) Leh, Mr. Ghulam Mohammad (JKAS), chaired a ‘Mimang-Si-sJabstogs’ public outreach and grievance redressal camp at Yangtsay Community Hall, uniting residents of Sankar, Yurtung, and Chubi Kadpa villages in Upper Leh.
The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from villagers, Nambardars, and officials from multiple government departments. ADC Leh and departmental heads interacted directly with residents, addressing key concerns related to water supply, roads, education, healthcare, and infrastructure. Several issues were resolved on the spot, while others were forwarded for immediate departmental follow-up.
ADC Ghulam Mohammad urged citizens to actively participate in such platforms and highlighted the importance of transparency, accountability, and grassroots awareness of government schemes. He also directed departments to conduct local information drives to ensure benefits reach every household.
A key highlight of the camp was an awareness session on flagship welfare programmes such as Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, SANKALP, and PM Kaushal Vikas Yojana, with detailed explanations on eligibility and benefits.

Social Welfare Department detailed assistance under Old Age Pension, State Marriage Assistance Scheme, scholarships, and Mid-Day Meal Programme.

Agriculture Department shared insights on Per Drop More Crop (PDMC), PM Kisan, Kisan Credit Card, and the Ladakh Greenhouse Scheme offering up to 75% subsidy for protected cultivation.

Power Development Department (PDD) briefed on the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, offering a Central subsidy of ₹85,800 and UT subsidy of ₹50,000 for 3 kW rooftop solar systems, besides ongoing ₹1,172 crore projects for smart metering and rural electrification under CAPEX and SDP.
ADC Leh underscored the importance of modern education and vocational training, encouraging parents to guide their children toward careers in IT, healthcare, engineering, and tourism. He also emphasized community ownership in maintaining public assets for sustainable growth.
The Nambardars of Sankar, Yurtung, and Chubi Kadpa played a crucial role in mobilizing residents and voicing collective concerns. The event concluded with ADC Ghulam Mohammad expressing gratitude for the public’s active participation and reaffirming the administration’s commitment to inclusive, responsive, and transparent governance through continuous outreach and swift grievance resolution.
