Kargil, November 6: Member of Parliament from Ladakh, Mohmad Haneefa Jan, undertook an extensive tour of the Poyen constituency to assess local grievances and review ongoing developmental needs across several villages.
Accompanied by Councillor Mohd Amin and senior district officers, the MP interacted with residents of Bagh-e-Khomeini, Akchamal, Biathang Shilikchay, Mal, and Hunderman. Villagers raised key concerns including road connectivity, healthcare facilities, irrigation systems, and Jal Jeevan Mission works.
At Hunderman Broq, residents also demanded improved medical infrastructure, irrigation renovations, and an ice hockey rink. The MP assured that their genuine demands would be addressed on priority and taken up with the UT and Central Governments.
He urged villagers to engage in awareness programmes like Jan Hit Camps to benefit from welfare and employment schemes. Councillor Mohd Amin expressed gratitude to the administration for ongoing support and highlighted the ₹27 crore Hunderman Lift Irrigation Project recently approved for the area.
