Leh: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Ladakh welcomed two notable figures into its fold today—senior journalist Rinchen Angmo and social worker Tsering Dorjay—during an event held under the leadership of BJP Ladakh State President Tashi Gyalson Khachu and State General Secretary (Organisation) Ashok Kaul.
Both new members cited the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the historic move to grant Union Territory status to Ladakh as key reasons for their decision to join the party.
They also praised the ongoing developmental push in the region and expressed appreciation for CEC LAHDC Leh, Tashi Gyalson, particularly for initiating recruitment drives through LSSSSB and LAHDSSRB, opening up employment opportunities for local youth.
Their induction was attended by several party leaders including BJP State Vice President Nawang Samstan Lden, BJP Leh District President Stanzin Chosphel, BJKM State President Tsering Mutup, BJMM State President Rinchen Dolkar, and grassroots-level karyakartas.
In a parallel engagement, the BJP leadership also chaired a Booth Level Committee meeting for Bazgo, Upper Leh, Lower Leh, and Phyang Mandals, where the focus was on strengthening booth-level structures and preparing for the upcoming ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign.
Later in the day, a state-level workshop on the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign was held in Leh. Led by BJP State President Tashi Gyalson and General Secretary Ashok Kaul, the meeting outlined plans for a widespread celebration of national unity and pride from August 10 to 15 across Ladakh.
Party leaders, including Deputy Chairman LAHDC Leh Tsering Angchuk, Executive Councillor Tashi Yakzee, BJP Vice President Dorjay Angchuk (campaign in-charge), and several district heads, called for inclusive participation in the campaign—from the grassroots to the state level.
This year, the campaign also commemorates the success of Operation Sindoor, adding a patriotic tribute to Ladakh’s role in national defense and unity.
