Leh: The Ladakh Scouts galloped to a glorious win in the final match of the CEC Cup Polo Tournament 2025, held at the iconic Shagaran Polo Ground, Chuchot. But it was not just about the scoreline—it was a celebration of Ladakh’s deep-rooted culture, spirit, and unity.
Chief Secretary of UT Ladakh, Dr. Pawan Kotwal, who graced the grand finale as Chief Guest, delivered a powerful address that resonated with pride and cultural consciousness. “Traditional sports like polo are not just a part of our history—they are living symbols of our identity, binding generations through shared heritage and pride,” he said. He reaffirmed that the UT Administration will continue supporting cultural and sporting festivals that strengthen Ladakh’s unique legacy.
Also present was DGP UT Ladakh, Dr. S.D. Singh Jamwal, who commended the players’ energy, discipline, and team spirit. He urged the youth to remain connected to their roots while striving for excellence across all fields.
The final match of the Ladakh Polo Festival 2025 was witnessed by a large and enthusiastic crowd, including locals, dignitaries, and a surge of curious tourists. The Ladakh Scouts’ thrilling performance and eventual win sparked loud celebrations and pride among attendees.
Among other dignitaries present were Deputy Chairman LAHDC Leh, Shri Tsering Angchuk, and DC/CEO LAHDC Leh, Romil Singh Donk, who hailed the tournament’s success and the role it plays in cultural preservation.
The week-long festival organised by LAHDC Leh brought together traditional polo matches, folk performances, crafts, and Ladakhi cuisine—turning the Shagaran Polo Ground into a vibrant centre of culture and community.
