Nubra: Independence Day was celebrated at the SDM Office Complex in Diskit, Nubra Thursday on 15 August 2024.
Sub Divisional Magistrate, Diskit Nubra, Tufail Iqbal presided over the ceremony and hoisted the national flag, followed by March Past by contingents from Ladakh Police, Government Higher Secondary School, Government Boys Middle School, Lamdon Model School, and Government Girls Middle School of Diskit.
In his address, the SDM highlighted the significance of Independence Day and spoke on the ongoing developmental initiatives in Nubra Sub-Division. He also encouraged the students to take pride in their active participation in national events and to continue striving for excellence in their respective fields.
The occasion was marked with great fervor and enthusiasm with a strong call for progress and unity throughout the event. A special trophy and prize distribution ceremony was held during the event to honour the students who demonstrated outstanding performances.
Trophies were awarded for excellence in the March Past as well as for various cultural performances, recognizing the dedication of the students involved.
The event not only celebrated the nation’s independence but also emphasized the importance of community involvement and youth empowerment in the region.
