Leh: The Ladakh administration has advised all students that there is a no need of getting fresh Scheduled Tribe (ST) certificate during document of verification for Staff Selection Service (SSC) posts for which result declared last week.

“There is no need of getting fresh ST certificate. The validity of certificate would be checked separately. Candidates should send self attested copies of existing ST certificate to SSC issued in Leh and Kargil,” commissioner secretary Ajeet Sahu clarified in a tweet.

He added for the candidates should refer format at Annexure VI(A) of the Advertisement Notice of SSC. Thus, validly issued ST certificates by competent authority in Leh and Kargil would be valid in SSC.

After declaring results of 797 posts, the SSC has asked candidates to submit document for next level of scrutiny.

The recruitment agency Service Selection Commission (SSC) has declared result of Computer Based Examination for matriculation level, Higher Secondary (10+2) Level and Graduation & above Level posts for which exam were conducted between August 1 to 5 August 2022 at several centers.

“A total 7105 candidates have been shortlisted for the next stage of scrutiny based on the normalized score and merit of candidates in the Computer Based Examination,” an official told Indus Dispatch.

In separate notifications, the SSC has informed that 7,105 candidates have been shortlisted for the next stage of scrutiny including 1571 for matriculation level, 865 candidates have been shortlisted Higher Secondary (10+2) Level posts while 4669 candidates have been shortlisted Graduation & above Level posts.

As per the separate notifications, the shortlisted candidates have been asked submit supporting documents including Ladakh Resident Certificate, Experience, Category, Age, Agerelaxation and others.

The shortlisted candidates have been to submit documents in hard copy along with the print out of their online application form to the Staff Selection Commission Northern Western Region, by 16th January, 2023 by SPEED POST ONLY.

“The candidates should clearly mention the “Matriculation level” “Higher Secondary (10+2) level, “Graduation & above level and “Post-Category No…… on the TOP of the Envelope while sending the documents,” the notification reads.

The notifications further reads that the candidature of shortlisted candidates will be not be considered if the requisite documents in hard copy is not received in the respective regional office by 16th January, 2023 and the commission shall not be responsible for any postal delays.

However, the people have raised concern about the selection non- locals figured in the list but the officials of Ladakh administration clarified that the candidature of these candidates will not be considered during scrutiny.

“Those shortlisted candidates furnishing wrong information or fails to submit valid documents including Ladakh Resident Certificate (LRC) to SSC will be rejected,” a top official told Indus Dispatch.

“The shortlist of more than 7000 candidates, which is 10 times higher than advertised posts and after document verification only eligible candidates will remain,” he said.

He added that the document verification will reject candidates, who have applied for multiple posts, don’t have Ladakh Resident Certificate and those who will fail to submit document.

He informed that everyone is allowed to fill the forms against vacant posts advertised by the SCC and result is declared on the basis of performance but the appointment as well as final selection list will  be prepared on criteria mentioned in the advertisement notification and it was clearly mentioned that the candidate must possess Ladakh Resident Certficate (LRC) .

“It was clearly mention in the advertisement issued by SSC on 23 May 2022 that the candidates must possess Ladakh Resident Certificate,” he said.
