LEH: The social welfare department has sought applications under State Marriage Assistance Scheme (SMAS) in Leh district of the Ladakh union territory.
The scheme, it may be mentioned is envisaged to provide financial assistance to marriageable Girls belonging to PHH, BPL and AAY categories. The girls whose marriage has been fixed but is unmarried as on date, can apply to the district welfare officer Leh to avail benefit under this scheme .
To be eligible for the financial assistance, the applicant must belongs to PHH/BPL/AAY family, and have attained 18 years of age.
The applicant must have not availed the benefit for the same purpose under any other State or Centrally Sponsored Scheme, the department said, adding the applicants can avail benefit only once under the scheme.
The application needs to have attached with it, a copy of BPL/AAY/PHH Ration Card, an affidavit regarding Un-Married status as on date, a copy of Aadhaar Card, Resident Proof/Resident Certificate, and a Copy of Bank Account Number.
