Leh: The administration of Ladakh has assigned revenue department to manage the affairs of Ladakh Union Territory Haj Committee & all other official works & related responsibilities.

As per the order issued by Commissioner Secretary Ajeet Kumar Sahu the managing affairs and all other official works, responsibilities and related matters of Haj has assigned to Haj committee.
It is pertinent to mention here thatThe administration of Union Territory of Ladakh has constituted Haj committee and nominated Musharraf Ali as the executive officer as well as appointed six members including a Member of Parliament Jamyang Tsering Namgyal.
“This advisory and consultative body would work as a nodal office between the intending Haj pilgrims with Central Haj Committee. It will facilitate the Haj Pilgrims of #Ladakh in performing Haj,” Commissioner Secretary General Administration Department (GAD), Ajeet Kumar Sahu wrote on twitter while sharing order copies.
As per the order, the JKAS Musharraf Ali nominated as executive officer of Haj committee of Ladakh.
“In terms of Haj Committee Act, 2002 (Act No 35 of 2002) read with Haj Committee Rules, 2002 and as approved by the competent authority in the Administration of Union Territory of Ladakh, Musharraf Ali Haf, JKAS. Deputy Secretary is nominated to act as Executive Officer Ladakh Union Territory Haj Committee constituted vide S.O. 123 dated 18′” Nov, 2022 issued by GAD Ladakh,” the order reads.
In separate order, Sahu also appointed six members of committee including a Member of Parliament, Ladakh Jamyang Tsering Namgyal.
The other five members are Mirza Hussain, Councilor (Chuchot constituency, Mohd Ali Chandan, Councillor (Shargole constituency), Mohd Ali Majaz, Zaheer Hussain Babar, Ward Member, Municipal Member Committee, Kargil and Nazir Ahmed
“In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 17 and sub-section (1) of section 18 of the Haj Committee Act, 2002 (Act No 35 of 2002) read with rule 20 of the Haj Committee Rules, 2002, and in suppression of earlier notification(s) issued on the subject, the Lieutenant Governor of Union Territory of Ladakh, hereby appoints the following as members of the Ladakh Union Territory Haj Committee for a period of 03 years from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette of Union Territory of Ladakh,” the order reads.
