LEH: The Ladakh administration on Tuesday constituted the Governing Body of Ladakh Rural Livelihood Society for implementation of Ladakh Rural Livelihood Mission (LRLM) in the Union Territory of Ladakh.
Headed by Advisor to the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, the governing body is tasked with the responsibility of providing overall policy guidance and directions for the efficient functioning of the Mission in fulfilling its objectives as laid down in Article 4 of the Memorandum and Articles of Association.
An official order issued in this regard by Ladakh General Administration Department said that the governing body will have Advisor to the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor as its head and Administrative Secretary, Rural Development & Panchayati Raj Department will be its member secretary.
The members of the governing body will include Joint Secretary NRLM, MoRD; Administrative Secretaries of Finance Department; Planning, Development & Monitoring Department; School Education Department; Industries & Commerce Department; Labour & Employment Department; Technical Education & Skill Development Department; Social Welfare Department; Agriculture, Horticulture & Floriculture Department; Animal/Sheep Husbandry & Fisheries Department; DCs/CEO, LAHDC-Leh and Kargil; Mission Director, LRLM/Director Rural Development; Convener, SLBC, Ladakh; Representative from SHG, Federation, if exist; and any other members as may be co-opted by the Chairperson.
The governing body will consider the balance sheet and annual audited accounts of the Society presented by Secretary along with the remarks thereon by the Executive Body, besides considering the annual report presented by the Secretary along with the comments thereon by the Executive Body, as well as the evaluation and special reports commissioned by the Member/Secretary.
“It will approve the annual action plan and budget for the ensuing year for consideration of appropriate authority. It shall ensure that the Mission considers any comments made by funding agencies on the progress in the implementation of the projects sponsored and funded by them,” said the order.
