Dras, February 19: The Fire and Fury Corps of the Indian Army organised a vibrant cultural and musical festival titled ‘Sangam–e–Sur’ in Dras, providing a significant platform for local artists to showcase and nurture their talent.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from civil administration officials, local residents, youth and Army personnel. More than 600 people attended the programme, reflecting strong civil–military cooperation in the region.
Six solo artists from the area captivated the audience with soulful performances, while a group dance presentation and an impressive display by the Indian Army’s Jazz Band added grandeur to the evening. The programme underscored the Army’s commitment not only to safeguarding the nation’s borders but also to supporting and promoting local talent by offering exposure and encouragement.
Local residents lauded the initiative and expressed gratitude to the Indian Army for actively engaging with the community and creating constructive platforms for youth. They noted that such events inspire young artists of Ladakh to pursue their passion while strengthening bonds of unity and harmony.
The festival concluded with a message of cultural pride, youth empowerment and enhanced cooperation between the Armed Forces and the people of Ladakh.
