NEW DELHI : The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has asked the Jammu and Kashmir Police, as well as the Central security agencies, to make a foolproof plan for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra which is set to begin on June 30, sources have said. The Ministry has directed the deployment of more than 40,000 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel and also other troopers from paramilitary forces, the sources further said. MUMBAI :Seeking to facilitate a higher credit flow of individual housing loans, the RBI on Friday extended the rationalised home loan norms by another year till March 31, 2023. In October 2020, the Reserve Bank as a countercyclical measure to deal with the COVID situation had rationalised the risk weights by linking them only with Loan to Value (LTV) ratios for all new housing loans sanctioned up to March 31, 2022. MUMBAI :In a bid to check fraud, the Reserve Bank on Friday decided to permit all banks to introduce card-less cash withdrawal through ATMs. Currently, card-less cash withdrawal through ATMs is a permitted mode of transaction offered by a few banks in the country on an on-us basis (for their customers at their own ATMs). ”It is now proposed to make card-less cash withdrawal facility available across all banks and ATM networks using the UPI. UDHAMPUR : Three persons were killed on Friday in a road accident in Udhampur district. MUMBAI : Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) Monetary Policy Committee on Friday voted to keep the benchmark repo and reverse repo rates unchanged for the 11th consecutive time. “MPC voted unanimously to leave the repo rate unchanged at 4 per cent. MPC also voted unanimously to keep the stance accommodative,” RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das said in his Monetary Policy Statement. The repo rate is the interest rate at which the RBI lends short-term funds to banks. The reverse repo rate, the interest rate at which the RBI borrows from banks, remains unchanged at 3.35 per cent. NEW DELHI : India logged 1,109 new coronavirus infections taking the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 4,30,33,067,while the active cases dipped to 11,492, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Friday. The death toll climbed to 5,21,573 with 43 fresh fatalities, the data updated at 8 am stated. The active cases comprise 0.03 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate remained at 98.76 per cent, the ministry said. LADAKH : An earthquake of magnitude 3.6 on the Richter scale jolted the areas of Kargil in Laddakh on Thursday evening at 5.12 pm, informed the National Centre for Seismology. The earthquake, with a depth of 35 km, struck 82 km North-West of Kargil. NCS informed about the incident through a tweet. “Earthquake of Magnitude:3.6, Occurred on 07-04-2022, 17:12:20 IST, Lat:35.13 & Long: 75.56, Depth: 35 Km, Location: 82km NW of Kargil, Laddakh, India,” tweeted NCS. NEW DELHI: Air India has suspended its twice-weekly Delhi-Moscow non-stop flight with effect from April 1, 2022. Now there is no direct connectivity between India and Russia, sources said. “Dear fellow citizens. Please note that Air India has stopped selling tickets on the Delhi Moscow-Delhi route. New Delhi: There is a mechanism in place to safeguard India’s critical infrastructure, the External Affairs Ministry said Thursday to reports suggesting that state-sponsored Chinese hackers had unsuccessfully targeted the electricity grid in Ladakh. JAMMU : The Jammu and Kashmir administration launched a physical verification portal to monitor development works and ensure transparency, officials said on Thursday. Additional Chief Secretary (Finance) Atal Dulloo launched the portal at the civil secretariat here.
