Leh, September 15: Divisional Commissioner Shurbir Singh, along with Deputy Commissioner Leh Romil Singh Donk and Tehsildar Leh Mohd. Shabir, held deliberations with Village Nambardaars to discuss various long-pending issues and developmental concerns affecting villages.
The Nambardaars raised concerns related to land allotment and settlement, land premiums, residential land and digital land settlement. They also highlighted the ongoing railway survey, expressing apprehension over its possible impact on residential areas, agricultural land and existing allotments.
Issues of flooding, protection of nalas, drainage and water management were also discussed, with village representatives seeking stronger and timely flood-protection measures.
The meeting further covered Jal Jeevan Mission, including inadequate water supply, pipeline issues and maintenance of water infrastructure. Road connectivity, bridges, community halls, agricultural and pasture land and other developmental projects were also raised.
The Nambardaars submitted a memorandum of demands to the administration. Div Com Shurbir Singh gave a patient hearing and assured that the issues would be examined with the concerned departments. He also directed officials to take necessary action on priority.
The meeting concluded with an emphasis on closer coordination between the administration and village representatives for faster resolution of public grievances and developmental concerns.
