Zanskar, August 17: The Department of Hindi, Government Degree College (GDC) Zanskar, presented a poignant short play depicting the horrors of Partition and the suffering of countless families forced to abandon their homes and migrate to India.
Organised as part of the Independence Day celebrations, the programme was held under the supervision of Principal Dr. Amjad Ali Abassi and coordinated by the Department of Hindi.
Through an emotionally charged performance, students portrayed the trauma of displacement, showing families leaving behind their homes, land, possessions and loved ones and arriving in India amid grief, fear and uncertainty.
The play also highlighted the resilience and courage of Partition survivors, who rebuilt their lives with dignity and hope despite enormous hardships.
Carrying a strong message of peace, unity, humanity, communal harmony and mutual understanding, the performance reminded the younger generation of the devastating consequences of division, hatred and violence.
The presentation received an overwhelming response from the audience and served as a moving tribute to the countless individuals and families who endured the tragedy of Partition while demonstrating extraordinary courage and perseverance.
