Kargil, February 19: The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) Kargil successfully concluded the 12th and 13th phases of its Winter Training Programme for in-service teachers of Kargil district, in alignment with the National Education Policy 2020.
The 12th phase, held on February 12 and 13, focused on School Health and Wellness, with 47 School Health Ambassadors participating in the two-day programme. Resource persons including Dr. Jalil Wani, Dr. Murtaza Ali, Syed Hassan, Mr. Asadullah and Dr. Willayat Ali conducted sessions on mental health, prevention of substance abuse, physical hygiene and effective implementation of the 11 thematic modules of School Health and Wellness.
The 13th phase, conducted from February 17 to 19, centred on the PARAKH Holistic Progress Card. A total of 45 teachers attended the three-day training aimed at equipping them with the skills to implement the new 360-degree assessment system in schools. The Holistic Progress Card, developed by PARAKH under the National Council of Educational Research and Training, replaces the traditional marks-based evaluation system from Balvatika to Class 12.
Principal DIET Kargil, S.D. Namgyal, emphasised the importance of holistic development and urged teachers to effectively implement the training learnings at the school level.
Participants appreciated the practical and interactive nature of the sessions. The training programme reflects DIET Kargil’s continued commitment to strengthening quality education in the district in accordance with NEP 2020.
