Leh, February 17, 2026: The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Leh has commenced a five-day intensive workshop on Lesson Planning and Jolly Phonics in English Phonetics in collaboration with the 17000ft Foundation.
The workshop is being conducted in two phases. The first phase, focusing on Lesson Planning, is scheduled from February 17–18, while the second phase on Jolly Phonics English Phonetics will be held from February 19–21, 2026.
The initiative aims to strengthen pedagogical practices by equipping teachers with effective lesson planning techniques and innovative classroom methodologies to enhance foundational literacy and student engagement.
On the inaugural day, Principal DIET Leh, Mirza Mehdi, formally welcomed the resource person, Archana Mahindra of the 17000ft Foundation, along with participating teachers. In his address, he stressed the importance of patience, dedication, and consistent practice while implementing new teaching strategies. He encouraged participants to sincerely adopt and apply the training insights in their respective schools to improve learning outcomes.
Archana Mahindra, an experienced educator and trainer, will lead the sessions with a focus on practical lesson planning approaches, interactive teaching methods, and classroom-based applications. The workshop is designed to offer hands-on experience, collaborative learning, and reflective discussions to ensure effective implementation.
