Drass, February 17, 2026: The final match of an Archery Tournament at Goshen, Drass witnessed enthusiastic participation and community spirit as Councillor Bhimbat Constituency, Abdul Wahid, attended the event as the Chief Guest.
The tournament was organised by the Goshen Archery Club in collaboration with the Winter Sports Association Drass, drawing local talent and sports enthusiasts from across the region.
Addressing the gathering, the Councillor congratulated all participating teams, specially applauding the winners and runners-up for their commendable performance. He praised the organisers for successfully conducting the tournament and for their consistent efforts in promoting sports and nurturing young talent in Drass.
In his speech, Abdul Wahid also lauded the Humas Ice Hockey Team for clinching the Royal Enfield Cup at Leh, terming it a proud moment for the region. He assured the youth that education, healthcare, and sports development would remain key priorities.
Highlighting ongoing initiatives, he informed that several major sports infrastructure projects have been sanctioned for Drass, including two cricket stadiums, one astroturf stadium, two indoor stadiums, and the Winter Academy at Munmun Top. These projects, he said, aim to strengthen sports culture while boosting tourism potential.
As a mark of encouragement, the Councillor also announced a financial contribution to support the tournament organisers, reaffirming his commitment to youth empowerment and sporting excellence in Drass.
