Leh: In a significant step towards financial inclusion and empowerment, the Sindhu Infrastructure Development Corporation (SIDCO), UT of Ladakh, has announced a new initiative offering interest-subsidised loans to economically weaker sections of society. The scheme targets Scheduled Tribes (ST), minorities, and persons with disabilities (Divyangjan) residing in the Union Territory.
As per the approved targets by the Managing Director, SIDCO Ladakh, this initiative aims to provide easy access to capital for the underprivileged by offering loans ranging from ₹1 lakh to ₹50 lakh, with a subsidised interest rate between 4% and 10%, depending on the loan amount.
Online applications will open from 21st July 2025, and the last date for registration is 11th August 2025. Eligible applicants can apply via the official website: sidco.ladakh.gov.in.
The scheme is expected to boost entrepreneurship, self-employment, and small business development among marginalised groups in Ladakh. SIDCO Ladakh has formally requested the UT’s Information Department to launch an extensive publicity campaign across major electronic and print platforms—including All India Radio, Red FM, Top FM, Doordarshan, Rangyul TV, Reach Ladakh, and various online portals—to ensure maximum outreach.
SIDCO has also asked that payment-related bills for the release of advertisements be directed to their head office at the Industrial Estate, Leh.
This move aligns with the UT Administration’s broader goals of economic upliftment and inclusive growth, ensuring that even the most underserved citizens get access to government-supported financial tools.
